Steam Early Access Phase: Gold Farming & Play to Unlock
After a long history of GameFi game development, we’ve gone from Axie Infinity’s NFT Play to Earn model to the present, where few games have ventured into new territory. Even high-quality games still utilize NFT-driven monetization models. Cradles, after extensive research, has developed a different path for empowering community players: the Play to Unlock model. This article will focus on the mechanics of Play to Unlock.
To get started, all players need to register an account and purchase the game on Steam to create their characters and start playing. Throughout your gaming journey, you’ll level up, encounter various monsters, and unlock your mining skills. Let’s delve into the mining process. In the game, you can acquire $CRDS ORE in two ways:
• Killing monsters, with a low chance to directly obtain a small amount of CRDS ORE. This is possible in any area of the game.
•By upgrading the talent “Mining,” you gain access to “Mining crystal ore,” which can then be used to obtain “$CRDS ORE.”
To improve your mining proficiency, you need to mine ore that matches your “Mining” proficiency level. Please note that your proficiency level cannot exceed your character level. During the Early Access phase, if you hold a Cradles Crystal pass NFT, you’ll see that you possess “Mining crystal ore” (you can remove the gray area if you don’t need the NFT pass).
To mine “crystals,” you’ll need to reach level 50 in proficiency and activate “Mining crystal ore.” Be prepared, as these crystals primarily grow in the perilous “Black Zone,” where PvP actions can occur. In the “Black Zone,” dying results in dropping your current items, leading to significant losses. So, thorough preparation is essential before venturing in.
During the Steam Early Access testing phase, you must obtain crystals in the game to acquire $CRDS. In our current design, the value of NFTs is far lower than that of tokens. As a result, we are adopting a strategy to continually inject value into tokens to complete our entire gold farming design.
Once you obtain crystals, you’ll be allowed to exchange them for $CRDS at an adjustable exchange rate. There’s no upper limit to $CRDS exchange.
When you exchange $CRDS, without using any items, this exchange will have a 3-year locking period. $CRDS will unlock after these 3 years.
Two magical items: Cradles Power and the Time Hourglass.
Cradles Power significantly reduces your locking period. The calculation formula is Cradle Power/$CRDS/10 * 100%. For example, if you put in 100 $CRDS and add 100 Cradles Power, you’ll get a 10% reduction in locking time (100/100/10 * 100%). If you put in 900 Cradles Power + 100 $CRDS, you’ll receive a 90% reduction, equal to 900/100/10 * 100%. Please note that you can only input up to 9 times the quantity of $CRDS in Cradles Power to reduce the unlocking time. Additionally, Cradles Power can be used repeatedly for unlocking. But what if you want an immediate unlock?
If you want to immediately unlock $CRDS, we offer a magical item: the Time Hourglass. It can break the constraints of time and instantly unlock deposits of less than 1000 $CRDS. Please remember that once you choose to withdraw more than 1000 $CRDS, you won’t be able to use the Time Hourglass. You can only use it when withdrawing 1000 $CRDS or less.
Upcoming Events
- $SCRDS Exchange: On November 24th, we will launch the $SCRDS to $CRDS exchange event. You’ll be able to convert $SCRDS obtained in the game into $CRDS at a 1:1 ratio, with $CRDS playing a vital role in the Cradles ecosystem
- HODL Season: Starting on November 29th, we will initiate the HODL Event. We will take random snapshots at 10 different time points between November 29th and December 2nd. Players holding more than 800 $CRDS tokens after averaging the totals from these 10 snapshots will receive the first batch of Time Hourglass airdrops!
- Hourglass Treasure Hunt: In December, we will launch a one-week Hourglass Treasure Hunt event (timings to be announced). The daily number of treasure chests will be limited, so prepare your $CRDS and passes. Keep an eye on our Twitter and community channels, as these chests might contain delightful surprises.
- Silver Wing Alliance: Starting on December 3rd, 2023, we will introduce the pledge membership system. By staking more than 500 $CRDS to the alliance, you will become a member of the Silver Wing Alliance. If you stake over 500 $CRDS to the Alliance, you become an esteemed member of the Silver Wing Alliance. As an Alliance member, you’ll be entitled to exclusive benefits and titles, including:
